Dr Karthikeyan
Consultant – Sports Medicine
He likes to be known as a sports enthusiast who is also a doctor. He is a son of the soil, who did his schooling in Stanes higher secondary school, where he was actively involved in sports. He did his undergraduate training in Coimbatore Medical College and represented his college in Basketball, badminton and table tennis. He chose to become an orthopaedic surgeon and did his masters in Thanjavur Medical college. He got further Orthopaedic training from Ganga Hospital Coimbatore. His interest in sports led him to specialise in Sports Injury management for which he underwent training from speciality centres in Hyderabad, Manipal and Chicago. He is an expert in keyhole (Arthroscopy) surgeries of knee and shoulder.
His thirst for knowledge made him complete his Diploma in Sports Medicine from the prestigious International Olympic Committee (IOC). He is the first doctor to receive that distinction in this part of the country.
He is presently working as Senior Consultant Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine at Royal Care Super Speciality Hospital, Coimbatore.
He is an expert in treating ligament injuries of knee, ankle and shoulder. Being a sportsman and a doctor, it helps him understand the intricacies of common sports injuries which helps his clients to Return to Play at the earliest. He has presented many papers at state, national and regional conferences.

He completed his Bachelors and Masters in physiotherapy from reputed colleges in Coimbatore.
His penchant for fitness pulled him towards this field and he worked as speciality personal trainer in some of the leading fitness centres in Coimbatore. His interest in sport injuries and rehabilitation led him to complete his post graduate diploma in On field Sports injury Management from Dr. MGR University, Chennai. He is a certified therapist for Dry Needling, Myofascial Cupping and Soft tissue Manipulation, which help in rejuvenation and rapid recovery of athletes. He has vast experience in treating chronic painful conditions of knee and spine.
